Scholars will engage in a unique program that combines the calming and empowering presence of horses with proven Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices. By working with horses, scholars will develop essential life skills such as communication, empathy, self-awareness, and problem-solving. The program emphasizes personal growth, resilience, and emotional well-being, giving scholars practical tools to navigate challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Unlike traditional approaches, equine-assisted learning creates hands-on, meaningful experiences that help youth build confidence, strengthen relationships, and manage stress in healthy ways. Through this innovative program, scholars are supported in developing stronger connections with themselves, their peers, and the world around them.
This program runs on Thursdays from 4:00-5:45pm. Parents are required to pick up scholars at our Lower Academy located at 2605 School Street, Rockford, IL 61101 at 5:45pm.
