The Night Witches- Galapagos on Broadway (5th-8th) Sunday Oct 22, 2023
The Night Witches, the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, flew in stripped-down airplanes made of canvas and wood and dropped bombs on Nazi camps during World War II. Among the first women in aviation combat, they were constantly being shuffled and moved to perform new duties. Two women have just finished training as navigators and are moments away from their first combat mission. As they fight their nerves, the team around them use different means of bolstering their spirits but when the time comes, ready or not, to the sky they must go. However, tonight is different than any night they’ve faced before. Their enemy has employed a new tactic, taking them completely by surprise. Using movement, song, and lyrically-styled dialogue, we follow these brave women through one fateful evening during the war. (Open to 5th-8th graders)
This show is performed in DeKalb, IL at the Stagecoach Players.
We will leave the LA at 12:30pm on Sunday Oct 22. We should return to the LA around 5:15pm on Sunday.
Price is $10 includes ticket and transportation. There are no meals on this trip so please make sure you scholar eats before we leave.
